We had the phenomenal opportunity to work with Lusso for several projects at the MIT International Design Center in Cambridge, MA.  Lusso’s team was exceptional: their communication, ability to listen and respond, creative and innovative designs for small and large spaces, and pricing were all impeccably handled.  All of our projects with Lusso have been handled with exceptional customer service, have come in under budget and on time. The quality of the furniture they represent, along with their ability to offer multiple solutions for small and large spaces is unmatched by any other group we have worked with.  We look forward to working with Lusso for our future design, furniture and innovative space needs.

Julie, Meryl, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We have been in the furniture industry for a combined 33 years. After working at a luxury showroom in Boston for most of that time together, we decided to go out on our own and start Lusso. Raising families and being professional women, we wanted a way to find balance in our lives. Just three years later, we have achieved our goal.

It is great to work with a great friend / business partner. We are great ying / yang for each other where one of us will be stressed out and the other will recognize the stress and totally focus on comedy and laughter.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There are always struggles when working for yourself. The pressure of owning your own business, the fear of failing and the uncertainty of tomorrow. There is always the competition and those that don’t want you to succeed that create speed bumps on the road to success.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Lusso – what should we know?
Lusso is an online dealership selling high end American and European furniture, lighting and accessories. We offer luxury and modern furniture for your home and office with classic, contemporary and modern design.

Our goal is to make your shopping experience as easy as possible. At Lusso, we provide the highest level of customer service, which sets us apart from the other dealerships. We pride ourselves on product knowledge, communication and responsiveness with our clients.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Our biggest champions have been our husbands and families. We took a big jump in to the financial unknown when we left our jobs to start this company and could not have done that without their love and support.

We also must give significant credit to the manufacturers who took a chance on us in the beginning and believed in our ability to effectively sell their products and represent them in the best possible light.
