PLASTIC RIVERS

PLASTIC RIVERS, craftsmanship and recycled materials in manifesto-rugs
A collection by Álvaro Catalán de Ocón for GAN
PLASTIC RIVERS is Álvaro Catalán de Ocón's first collaboration with GAN. A collection of four rugs resulting from the shared concern to raise awareness and combat one of the great global problems of the industrial era, plastic waste, through craftsmanship.

 

YANGTZE, NIGER and INDUS join GANGES to complete a series of handmade rugs with recycled plastic fibres (100% recycled PET). These are accurate and scale representations of four of the most polluted and pollutant rivers on the planet that are made by artisans in India using the hand-tufted technique. For this reason, these manifesto-designs are also examples of social design, handmade by artisans to recreate aerial views of each of the rivers.

 

Since the launch of GANGES in 2021, PLASTIC RIVERS has already been recognized with such prestigious awards as the Ro PLASTIC PRIZE 2021, organized by Rossana Orlandi and her daughter Nicoletta Orlandi Brugnoni within the framework of the RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC project, and the NYCxDESIGN Awards in the Environmental Impact category, awarded by Interior Design magazine in New York.

Marnie smooth innovation

"Technology for design" is Marnie’s distinctive feature, a collection - designed by Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri - that combines essentiality with expertise resulting in the creation of soft profiles while maintaining solidity and strength.
 

Round and curved lines come together in the design of Marnie's chairs and tables, making them perfect for adding an intimate and welcoming touch to the dining room decor.
The textile and material finishes combined with the solidity of ash wood enhances the visual appeal and the comfort, which is the signature of the collection.

The Marnie Chair in solid ash wood is stackable and available in two different versions: with upholstered seat or with upholstered seat and back, with natural, walnut or black finishes; fabrics offer a wide range of possibilities for customization in terms of color and material.

The collection of Tables is available in different colors and sizes, with square, rectangular or round top.
Just as for the Chair, the structure of the Tables in the Collection is in solid ash wood and available in natural, walnut or black finishes.

Bonaldo 2022: BLEND

The sofa collection "Blend" by Bonaldo joins fabric with emery leather, combining playful elegance with formal rigor.

With "Blend", the Italian furniture manufacturer Bonaldo launches a sofa collection designed by the Italian designer Giuseppe Viganò, which skilfully combines design contrasts: "Blend" joins emery leather with fabric, whose interplay appears strict and playful at the same time. A support structure clad in core leather forms the back and sides of the sofa and thus encloses the generous seating areas made of fabric. It thus creates a strict frame for the elegant seating surface, which is simultaneously softened by curved fabric cushions. "Blend" also includes various end, corner, chaise longue and pouf elements that allow the respective sofas to be adapted to a wide variety of spaces. The collection is part of Bonaldo's Living 2022 catalog, in which the company introduces new sofas and armchairs as well as iconic pieces from its collection.
